Shaken or Stirred?

All through the bible there are references to be stirred or shaken and that is a choice we as CHRISTians make daily. Will we be shaken or Stirred? What does it mean? lets look at definitions as it applies here ...
Shaken means

shake

[sheyk] Show IPA verb, shook, shak·en, shak·ing, noun
verb (used without object)
1.
to move or sway with short, quick, irregular vibratory movements.
2.
to tremble with emotion, cold, etc.
3.
to become dislodged and fall (usually followed by off  or down ): Sand shakes off easily.
4.
to move something, or its support or container, briskly to and fro or up and down, as in mixing: Shake before using.
5. to totter; become unsteady

Pay attention to the negative connotation of the word ... to become dislodged and fall to totter or become unsteady. Basically move one to inaction or retreat

Stirred means ...

stir

1 [stur] Show IPA ,verb, stirred, stir·ring, noun
verb (used with object)
1.

Not the more positive of this word to mix or combine, to affect strongly and excite, to move to action or incite.

What will you choose to be Shaken or Stirred in JESUS, will you allow the world to shake you into hiding making you ineffective  or will you have it stir you up to action to share the good news to let your light shine before all

Matthew 5:14-16 (King James Version)

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot * be hid . 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Luke 10: 25-37

Luke 10

New King James Version (NKJV)

25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?
27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’[h] and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’[i]
28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”
29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the next day, when he departed,[j] he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ 36 So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”
37 And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

WWJD, we saw this on hats and t-shirts back some years ago ... What Would JESUS Do? JESUS is our example to follow, I would say what 'did' JESUS do?
Heard recently " Not my problem" When bouncing it off JESUS's parable here where does that fit? with the preist? the Levite? or the samaritan? If you were in need what catagory would you want people in?
This is the Christmas season, we celebrate the birth of our LORD and saviour JESUS, we were in dire need, a people lost in the world, a people with out hope and what did JESUS do? Did HE say" not my problem" When GOD the father asked Him to go down  and be born of man, minister to those people, heal those people and then get beaten, spit on and hung on a cross to die for those people? No HE humbly took on the problem, extended arms of love, compassion, healing and caring to open a whole new dialogue and relationship with GOD through HIMSELF as a sacrifice for all we had done, did do, and will do?

So next time you think or say the words "Not my problem" I want you to think ... What if JESUS had said that and then not think WWJD ( What Would JESUS DO) but rather WDJD ( What Did JESUS Do).

GOD bless

Matthew 6:22 message

Matthew 6

New King James Version (NKJV)

22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Was reading this chapter and it occurred that this is a little deeper than face value. What we allow our eyes to gaze upon will determine what is in our heart. Do we take in uplifting, GODly, wholesome things into our visual realm, through book, cinema, or even what we concentrate on as we walk about or do we put energy into that which is unhealthy spiritually? You see this verse speaks lighting the whole body, the soul, your heart of hearts and it is important for we as CHRISTians to focus our gaze on heaven and allow the love of JESUS to illuminate us so fully that it spills out.

It is CHRIST that opens our eyes, HIS sacrifice, HIS love for us that opens our eye and makes it good as the scripture says, before our realisation and coming to JESUS our eye was bad and our life dark.

Today be aware of were you put your attention and your focus, on things of heaven or this of the world?

Colossians 3 New King James Version (NKJV)

Colossians 3

New King James Version (NKJV)

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long suffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Was reading an article about Tim Tebow today and how some other players wish he would stop talking about JESUS and the wonderful response he had to it. Now while I am not a sports fanatic it was refreshing to read about a young person that has such a love of GOD in their heart that they want to share it no matter what and have their priorities set right. The whole attitude of young Tebow fits this passage, it also gives one pause where is your fire? Where is the priority of JESUS in your heart and what are you going to do to improve it?
I want you to reread the passage and thoughtfully apply it to yourself and see where you stand and be honest after all we are imperfect and I know that I could use some improvement, how about you? Where is GOD leading your heart and what are you going to do about it?
